In early April 2022, after a few discussions with owner James Train regarding my Club’s needs, his pricing came in significantly lower than any competitor and even lower than what I could have bought the lumber, hardware and floats to build the docks myself, never mind the cost of my labour.
Even at the height of the supply chain crisis, as promised, five weeks after placing my order, James notified me that the docks were ready for pick up the following week.
Rather than dealing with a customs broker, inflated trucking costs due to fuel, logistics, and shipping delays, I drove up to Canada to trailer the sections back.
The Cottage Docks crew loaded me up in less than an hour, and I was back on the road, and less than 24 hours later I was dropping the docks off at our Club.
The quality, fit and finish exceeded both my and our members expectations! What a great company and group of professionals. I will definitely do business with this company again as we look to add a few more sections in the coming years.

I’m completely satisfied with the dock I purchased from Cottage Docks last year. One year later and everything is still perfect. I was particularly impressed with Tyler. When he made the delivery at the cottage it wasn’t going to be as easy I had hoped. At one point I was worried if we could even get the docks into the water. Tyler was patient, looked at the situation and came up with a solution. Both docks were in the water in about 30 minutes. I couldn’t be happier. Quality is top notch, I like 2×6’s for decking, not 5/4 and that is how they built it.

Our old ramp and floating dock system was on its last legs for the last 2 years during which time we exhaustively researched a number of local dock builders.
We finally settled on Cottage Docks, and did so because:
*They very much had a ‘can do’ attitude about all our requests.
*They offered the highest quality core center cut cedar boards.
*They sourced special order granite grey colored large sized bumper floats for the floating dock, and including a granite grey colored float for the ramp.
*They offered 5/16 inch marine grade 43 chain, which is an upgrade over many who supply only 1/4 inch size.
*Their dock hardware including backing plates, carriage bolts, heavy duty silent hinges, and 170 pound standard concrete anchors were all first rate quality.
*The fiberglass reinforced nylon dock cleats are the absolute best around and a steal at $40 each.
*Their aluminum ramp with curved radius side, and removable boards feature is an industry leader, and by far the most attractive ramps on the market.
*Even the dot lights were first rate and look great.
*The installation crew of Toby and Conner were fantastic ! The day before installation we asked Cottage Docks if they would sell us additional center core cut cedar deck boards, to replace the boards on our land side paris deck, (to which the ramp connected to). This would allow us to have a congruous appearance of the entire deck and dock system. Cottage Docks sent the extra necessary boards, and Toby and Conner not only installed the new ramp and floating dock, but they also replaced the boards on our paris deck. When they took the old boards off it was apparent a couple of joists needed replacing and they took care of that too! We can’t say enough about what a fine job these 2 guys did. And this with but 24 hours notice!
*Working with Tyler was a complete pleasure. He doesn’t tell you what they can’t do, but rather tells you what they can and will do.

The gentleman I spoke with knew exactly what I needed and not only promised to ensure I was receiving the proper order but that order was delivered to my door in less than twenty four hours! Amazing service, value and quality! I wanted to replace my old styrofoam floating dock with something sturdier and bigger with a sitting area at the end of the dock. Megan and Tyler were wonderful to deal with in providing me with a competitive quote and recommendations for what I needed. They were friendly, available for any questions and prompt. The installers, Silas and another young gentleman I didn’t get the name of, were friendly, knowledgeable, accommodating and very efficient with the installation.
