The team arrived the morning after the installation to swap out those pieces for new ones. If you’re trying to decide between Cottage Docks and one of the bigger dock companies, stop looking.
From day one, Tyler put up with my countless questions and emails (and there were a lot!). He was always patient, incredibly knowledgeable, and never once made me feel like I was asking too much. He genuinely wanted to make sure I was comfortable with every decision.
The quality of the finished dock is absolutely outstanding! They use the exact same materials as the “big dock builders,” including Techstar floats, but they also offer a lifetime warranty on them - something the others simply don’t. Most only offer 10–15 years. On top of that, they also used 2x8 pressure treated lumber with 1/4” thick galvanized steel corner brackets on every joist on the dock.

But what really impressed me is the exceptional customer service didn’t after we gave our deposit. It arrived on the exact day and at the exact time they promised. No delays and no excuses.
When the crew arrived (Toby and Devin) for the installation, they showed up smiling and immediately said, “We want you to be picky. If you want us to move the shore mount an inch, we’ll move it an inch!” They genuinely wanted everything to be exactly where we wanted it. They even took the time to drag away a tree that had washed up on our shoreline - something they absolutely didn’t have to do, but did it anyway.
It is such a rarity these days to experience knowledge, quality craftsmanship and customer service in one package! So, if you’re debating between Cottage Docks and someone else, debate no further. Cottage Docks is the whole package! Thank you Tyler, Toby and Devin!

I have just had my new dock from Cottage Docks installed and I am completely happy with the process and staff. My old dock had failed and was in need of being replaced. I worked initially with James to scope out the project which included removal of the old dock and installation of a new dock. James helped me with dimensions of a new dock based on his years of experience and did a site visit. There was no access to the lake and that required partially building the dock, transporting to the lake and completing the build at the lakeshore. The crew that came to do the removal and then install were so pleasant and worked with me on pertinant install details. They worked so quickly and I think the entire job was done over 2 days for a total of 3.5 hours. The dock is beautiful and sturdy. And I was additionally surprised that it was done well before my target install date due to my close proximity to their work site. I am grateful and completely happy with the results and my experience! Thank you to all who made it happen!

Cottage Docks was and is a fantastic builder of docks with prices for package deals that are unseen anywhere. We could not find any dock company that puts together the packages - including ramps and platforms - that Cottage Docks does and have all the accessories you could ever want. It is one stop shopping here. We had the 10'X16' platform and a 4X12 ramp package with hardware made by Cottage Docks that our contractor said, surpasses anything you can find with any other supplier.

We started with the above package and then discovered we needed another 50 ft. to reach deep water! I called Tyler and he immediately came up with a solution and within days(!) built two beautiful 24 ft. ramps. I challenge any other dock company to do this and with the efficiency and partnership Tyler offered.

If you are thinking of building a dock, you won't find another company who does what Cottage Docks does.

Our old ramp and floating dock system was on its last legs for the last 2 years during which time we exhaustively researched a number of local dock builders.

We finally settled on Cottage Docks, and did so because:

*They very much had a 'can do' attitude about all our requests.
*They offered the highest quality core center cut cedar boards.
*They sourced special order granite grey colored large sized bumper floats for the floating dock, and including a granite grey colored float for the ramp.
*They offered 5/16 inch marine grade 43 chain, which is an upgrade over many who supply only 1/4 inch size.
*Their dock hardware including backing plates, carriage bolts, heavy duty silent hinges, and 170 pound standard concrete anchors were all first rate quality.
*The fiberglass reinforced nylon dock cleats are the absolute best around and a steal at $40 each.
*Their aluminum ramp with curved radius side, and removable boards feature is an industry leader, and by far the most attractive ramps on the market.
*Even the dot lights were first rate and look great.
*The installation crew of Toby and Conner were fantastic ! The day before installation we asked Cottage Docks if they would sell us additional center core cut cedar deck boards, to replace the boards on our land side paris deck, (to which the ramp connected to). This would allow us to have a congruous appearance of the entire deck and dock system. Cottage Docks sent the extra necessary boards, and Toby and Conner not only installed the new ramp and floating dock, but they also replaced the boards on our paris deck. When they took the old boards off it was apparent a couple of joists needed replacing and they took care of that too! We can't say enough about what a fine job these 2 guys did. And this with but 24 hours notice!

Tyler and crew did a great job installing our dock in ‘21 and when we called on them again this summer to make some alterations they came through again. We would recommend them to anyone!

I'm a bit late on my review here but I'm completely satisfied with the dock I purchased from Cottage Docks last year. One year later and everything is still perfect. I was particularly impressed with Tyler. When he made the delivery at the cottage it wasn't going to be as easy I had hoped. At one point I was worried if we could even get the docks into the water. Tyler was patient, looked at the situation and came up with a solution. Both docks were in the water in about 30 minutes. I couldn't be happier. Quality is top notch, I like 2x6's for decking, not 5/4 and that is how they built it.

Love, love, love our new docks custom built by Cottage Docks Muskoka. From our first introduction to Tyler, Toby, Connor, Conway and Quinn, they were efficient, highly professional, detail oriented, respectful and polite. Tyler and his team delivered a beautiful finished product to us in the Bruce Peninsula. He was very patient and accommodating as we flipflopped on what we actually wanted and he and his crew delivered with a beautiful dock, on time and for less than he originally quoted. A real pleasure to work with.

In early April 2022, after a few discussions with owner James Train regarding my Club's needs, his pricing came in significantly lower than any competitor and even lower than what I could have bought the lumber, hardware and floats to build the docks myself, never mind the cost of my labour.

Even at the height of the supply chain crisis, as promised, five weeks after placing my order, James notified me that the docks were ready for pick up the following week.

Rather than dealing with a customs broker, inflated trucking costs due to fuel, logistics, and shipping delays, I drove up to Canada to trailer the sections back.

The Cottage Docks crew loaded me up in less than an hour, and I was back on the road, and less than 24 hours later I was dropping the docks off at our Club.

The quality, fit and finish exceeded both my and our members expectations! What a great company and group of professionals. I will definitely do business with this company again as we look to add a few more sections in the coming years.

Amazing service, value and quality! I wanted to replace my old styrofoam floating dock with something sturdier and bigger with a sitting area at the end of the dock. Megan and Tyler were wonderful to deal with in providing me with a competitive quote and recommendations for what I needed. They were friendly, available for any questions and prompt.
